  • As of the end of January 2012 Eric Lamaze continues to lead the Canadian rankings and maintains the #2  position in the world. Germany's Ludger Beerbaum is close behind Lamaze and both are in the heat of busy seasons, with lots of F.E.I. points on the line, in different geographic regions. Former #3 in the world, American McLain Ward, dropped to #5, as he is out of action for up to 5 months following a serious injury early in the Winter Equestrian Festival.

  • There is not much change in the order of Canadians on the list with a couple of exceptions. John Pearce by-passed Yann Candele by a nose to move into 5th position. Jonathan Asselin moved just ahead of Angela Covert Lawrence to take over 9th spot.
  • There are actually 21 riders on the top-20 list, due to ties.
