- This was the best World Championships in history for Canada with three Canadians finishing in the top-ten and the team finishing 4th. The team was less than one knockdown behind the bronze medal. Besides Gail Greenough’s historic win, John Anderson and Goby finished 8th and Ian Millar and Big Ben finished 10th.
- This was the last time the World Show Jumping Championships were held as a stand-alone World Championship.
